This week my time was once more exclusively dedicated to SPAW tasks.
My most urgent task was to finish reviewing of the SPAW article for the website, providing more information and web links, using the review made by Alessandra Vanzella-Khouri (Programme Officer for SPAW).
Christine O’Sullivan (Programme Assistant SPAW) also asked me to compare my review of the UNEP-CLME agreements’ deadlines to the one made by Karen McDonald Gayle (Director of the EFJ who also worked in collaboration with Christine O’Sullivan, Programme Assistant SPAW, and Alessandra Vanzella-Khouri, Programme Officer for SPAW, on the last Grants’ Agreements) because the results found were slightly different.
Since Emma Doyle (Project Manager for the WIDECAST and the GCFI) changed the title and the introduction of the Wonders of the Sea brochure (from English to French), she asked me to update my translation.
I continued to work on the CaMPAM Database, as asked by Emma Doyle (Project Manager for the WIDECAST and the GCFI). I put the information I had about Jamaica’s MPAs on Excel Spreadsheets and attempted to provide more information on some criteria where required.
Challenges faced: I was not able to fill on the criteria on the Excel Spreadsheets because very few information is available on Google on some MPAs, especially those which have not been designated yet.
Lessons learnt: I learnt how to gather all the information collected on the MPAs in a single Excel document.
