My last day. This past month, I continued to contribute and co-authored a report and presentation for UNEP CEP’s presentations at the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association Conference taking place in the Bahamas this October.

Further, I looked around and mingled with environment professionals at several events, including the Launch of ECCO Environment magazine discussing “Greening Businesses”, the third Agricultural Forum hosted at UWI by the Coffee Industry Board, which discussed “Challenges in Production and Export”, the launch of mobile science laboratories funded by the Digicel Foundation as well as a book launch on Caribbean Environmental Policy and Practice by Dr. E. Thomas-Hope. All of these events have given me better insights to the challenges faced by integrating environmental policies and strategies to overcome them. That and the very many stories and discussions I have had with incredible individuals outside of work, who have gone the extra mile, found their passion and believe in Jamaica. It is truly empowering to hear and see and I fell encouraged me to get my head up not down and follow my journey.

Soon come back.

Lessons Learned
Check on the latest kitchen utensils that are on site. Bring a little survival kit of knife, fork, spoon, mug, cup, bowl and plate – especially ensure to bring a re-usable water bottle for your travels around town.
