I am also learning more about the work of the Caribbean Environment Programme (CEP) and its three sub-programmes, Communication, Education, Training and Awareness (CETA), Specially Protected Areas and Wildlife (SPAW) and the Assessment and Management of Environmental Pollution(AMEP), the latter being the one that I will be mainly working under, especially with the implementation of the GEF IWEco project.
Even if I was familiar with some of the work being implemented in the Caribbean region by the UNEP CEP office, I was still a bit lost between the different protocols, programmes and projects. However, the staff has been really helpful in answering my questions.
Finally, it is my first time in Jamaica! I am really looking forward to discovering the culture, the people and the food! Sanya, Chrishane and JodyKay, another intern, introduced me to some of the affordable lunch spots around the office and I am planning to try each one of their meals during my time here!
The acronyms! Why arethere that many of them? I have actually started an Acronym Reference Sheet just to be able to remember and understand all of them!
I am still learning!
