Join us in Connecting People with Nature

#WorldEnvironmentDay June 5

In celebration of World Environment Day on June 5, the UN Environment Caribbean Environment Programme (CEP) and the Caribbean Sub-Regional Office based in Kingston, Jamaica is proposing a number of organised activities and partnership opportunities funded by the recently concluded Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded Caribbean Regional Fund for Wastewater Management (CReW) project.

The theme for World Environment Day, “Connecting People with Nature”  encourages a unique opportunity to work together to foster a deeper connection with the environment and how we can sustainably preserve the Caribbean Sea for future generations.

Activities range from  mobilizing financial  and technical  support  to Governments  within the  region, strengthening policies,  laws  and  regulations  on  pollution  and  marine  biodiversity  to  promoting awareness among the general public. We have previously partnered with various institutions including schools on activities such as pollution and biodiversity competitions, photo contests and scientific and environmental talks. Some of which have gained national and regional exposure.
