Areas for collaboration, funding and cooperation on projects in the Wider Caribbean Region

Project to Assist Governments of the WCR in Classifying their Waters

Objective:
To assist Governments of the Wider Caribbean Region in classifying their marine waters so as to facilitate the implementation of the LBS Protocol

Expected Outputs:

  • Meeting between the 2 LBS RACs (Cimab and IMA) and the AMEP and SPAW sub-Programme Officers of UNEP-CAR/RCU;
  • Public education and awareness programme;
  • Regional Workshop to train personnel from Government ministries and agencies;
  • Provision of consultants and/or technical assistance to the participating governments;
  • Hosting of regional workshop to present and discuss results of study; and
  • Compilation of a regional report.


Cost (US$): 206,000 Unfunded

 

Period: 2006-2007  (12 - 34 months)
